We have 28 state and 07 union territories and education being state subject, each one of them follows its own pattern and medium of instruction. It really becomes difficult for the children migrating from one state to the other to continue their studies.
The ?Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan?, an autonomous body under ministry of HRD, Deptt of Education, Govt. of India on 15th December 1965, runs the Kendriya Vidyalayas. At present the total strength of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country has risen to 1094 while three Vidyalayas are functioning abroad at Kathmandu (Nepal), Moscow (Russia) and Tehran (Iran).
