Mumbai Education Association started Gurukul English High School in the academic year 2004 ? 2005 with 68 students. The school was started for Primary section at Malwani Gate no 7. But due to demolition of the school with other residential structures of the area, the school was shifted to the resident house of Mr Farid Faruq Shaikh (President ? MEA). Initially Gurukul was a small single storey structure with no comfortable sitting arrangements. But as the time passed, under the leadership of the President Mr Farid Shaikh along with his family members and the dedicated team of teachers, the school has improved a lot. Now, as you can see in the photographs, Gurukul School is a double story strong building with a proper foundation and solid construction which is also certified by the engineers (Structural Stability Certificate issued by a STR registered engineer). Though the school has improved a lot as compared to its initial state, it still requires lot more facilities like a full fledge library, science laboratory, additional rooms for growing numbers of needy students, recreational facilities like sports equipments etc.
