S.D. Public School was established in 1971. After great efforts and cooperation of the members of the society, this school got recognition in 1981. S.D. Public School, Karolbagh was one of those schools, which imparted education to the girls. This was managed by Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (Regd).

Education in Prabhakar, Ratan and Bhushan etc was imparted to the girls in the beginning. The school progressed with the passage of time. Firstly classes for primary, followed by middle classes were held in this building. Because of scarcity of space, demand for school building was made and the respectable social activists of those times, succeeded in getting the land. Consequently, the S.D. girls College at that time is now J.V.S.D. Senior Secondary School, located at Link Road.
