The school is named as Srinivasa Ramanujan Public School to perpetuate the memory of the world famous mathematician SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN AIYANGAR (1887-1920). The service of celebrated mathematicianRamanujan to mathematics in particular and education in general has no parallel even today. The School has been aptly named after the great son of the soil - the spiritual educationist and renowned mathematician RAMANUJAN.
