Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Thanjavur, which is located in sylvan surroundings, one more feather to the Kendriya Vidyalaya family. Our school is located in proper Thanjavur District, in Tamilnadu. The school is located approximately 4 km away from the New Bus Stand, Thanjavur. Our school was started in the year 2007 from class I to Class VIII . In the year 2009 Class X& In the year 2010-11 Class XI has been started. At present we have classes from I to XII with single section and Double section in I & IX Class, only science stream is available for classes XI and XII. As of now the school is located in the temporary building in Air Force Station, Thanjavur. The land area of 9.68 acres which is sponsored by Air Force Station, Thanjavur is earmarked for the permanent school building. Our Vidyalaya has more than 500 students and more than 20 staff members. Our Enthusiastic, Dedicated and Dynamic Staff aim towards strengthening our Vidyalaya as per the norms of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and also to develop the wholesome personality of children in all respects.
The medium of instruction is English & Hindi, the ultimate object is to enable students to achieve a reasonable measure of proficiency in both the languages. The Vidyalaya prepares the students for All India Secondary School Examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The quality of teaching is kept reasonably high by an appropriate teacher-pupil ratio and provision of a suitable proportion of teachers with high qualification.
