Jwalamukhi Public School, Lairouching PO- Karong Dist- Senapati, Manipur was established in January 1984 under the chairmanship of Col NP Nanda, Commandant 21 Assam Rifles. It is located at Jwalamukhi (Lairouching) on NH-2 in between Dimapur and Imphal (136 KM from Dimapur and 79 KM from Imphal). After 19 years of running it was handed over to 36 Assam Rilfes by 21 Assam Rifles in the year 2003, and then it was handed over to 36 Assam Rifles. Now this school is running under the dynamic command and chairmanship of Col Swarn Singh Commandant 43 Assam Rifles.

Previously the School was recognized by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur. Now it is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi up to Class-X. Today the children of Assam Rifles personal as well as the local civilians including the students from Imphal valley are being provided quality education at this reputed institute which has earned its fame by virtue of hard working and dedicated teachers.

The School has come a long way since its inception and with its ever improving standard of education as well as its infrastructure; it is poised to be one of the finest centre of learning in the whole state.
