KVS envisions itself a world class organization in school education committed to continually empowering teachers to actualize inside in students and enable them to fulfill futuristic societal, national and global needs and aspirations.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Dronacharya, Kochi (Defence Sector) was opened on 11 May 1983 with a handful of students and the teachers. It was located in the campus of INS Dronacharya, Fort Cochin. It has been growing length and breadth ever since its establishment. In the year 2001 the school was shifted to the new building in Mundamveli, Ernakulam District, Kerala State, in the site provided by the NAVY, at present,the Vidyalaya has three sections each in classes I to X; two sections in classes XI science; one section of Class XI Commerce and one section each in class XII science and class XII commerce. We have started Commerce stream in the academic year 2011-12. We have Science Stream in the Higher Secondary Section with Computer Science as an elective subject and Informatics Practices as an elective subject for Commerce students.
