K.V. Keltron Nagar came into existence fulfilling the long felt needs of Defence & other Central Government employees residing in Kannur District. Kalliasseri and Taliparamba has large concentration of Defence people which is in and around Mangattuparamba where the present KV is situated.

The Vidyalaya was started as a one section school up to Class V in October 1986 in a temporary shelter near the present site.

The Govt. of Kerala handed over 10.5 acres of land to KVS for the construction of the Vidyalaya. The permanent building was constructed in 1995 under the able leadership of Smt.Nirmala Mohanan, the then Principal (Presently Smt.Nirmala Mohan is the Education Officer of KVS Bangalore Region).
