Kendriya Vidyalaya (in Hindi : is a system of central government schools under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The system came into being in 1962 under the name "Central Schools" and has been affiliated with CBSE since then. Later, the name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gumla is 100 KM from Ranchi. From Ranchi you can come by auto to ITI Bus Stand where you can get frequent buses for Gumla. From Gumla bus stand it is around 1 KM at training school campus. If you are come from Rourkela railway station you have to take bus for gumla which is around 150 KM, and the way is via Simdega, Kolebira and then Gumla. It has its own pucca grand building having spacious classrooms, big library of good books, well equipped computer labs , a leveled playground surrounded by high boundary walls from all sides to provide a safe and suitable environment for all round development of child's personality.
