Holy Cross congregation was founded in Switzerland in 1856 by Rev.Fr.Theodosious Florentini a great visionary of the time, together with Mother Maria Theresa Scherer as the co-foundress.Drwan by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and gifted with keen awareness of the social conditions of that time, they gave birth to this congregation of religious women who would commit themselves to the suffering humanity and fulfill human needs.

The sisters reached India in 1894 following the founders motto ?The need of the time is the will of God.?Holy cross Sisters are engaged in various social community development work, education, health, orphanage etc.Holy Cross School English Medium at Gholeng under the management of Holy Cross Sisters was founded in July 2003.Though admission is open to all, the school gives preference to the tribal children of the area to equip them and enable them to face the challenges of this fast changing world.
