Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Kumbhirgram a defense sector KV sponsored by 22 Wing AF was opened during session 1980-81. It is about 28 km from main town Silchar and located in the Air Force campus. Regular buses and Taxis are playing from Sadarghat Silchar to Kumbha and KV is adjacent to Paan Shop stoppage. Beautiful surrounding of Air force, tea gardens, and hill tops on the back side, pollution free environment obviously draw attention of visitors.

The Vidyalaya is having spacious class rooms, labs, Activity Room, CMP Room, library, and playground. The school is marching towards the excellence under the guidance of the Principal with an active support group of VMC, PTA & highly committed staff of 44 members. The present strength of students is more than 700.
