KV No 1 Trichy was started in the year 1966 near Kajamali Kimber Garden with five sections totally from classes I to V. Later it was shifted to Tennur – behind Hindi Prachara Sabha. Smt Rama Srinivasan, PGT English was incharge Principal of the school. Mr Krishna Princiapl of K V No-1 Jipmer Campus, Pondicherry was looking after the school when classes from (1967-68) VI to IX were functioning with one section each . In the year 1967 Mr. S Ranganathan, PGt Economics K V Jamnagar, Gujarat was appointed as Principal and posted to KV No-1 Trichy Later the scol was shifted to Ordnance Factory Campus and was functioning in a temporary factory building just opposite to Ordanance factory Trichy. In the year 1969 sections of each class were increased with the enrolment of 20 to 25 students two sections up to class VII & One section up to class XI were functioning.
The land by Oft was allotted to KV No-1 Trichy for the construction of a new building in the year 1970-71 and the construction work started in 1972, the school was started functioning in its own building.
An additional primary dept from classes I to V belongs to KV No-1 Trichy was also functioning in Trichy city near Fort Railway station in Railway building with one section in each class
The School Was developed gradually year by year with the enrolment of 30 to 35 students in each class.
