The Physical, mental and emotional development aims at building up the personality, raising the individual of the amorphous subconscious mass and making him a well defined self conscious entity. This, supplemented with the spiritual education of the individual, gives him the true motive of life, the reason of his/her existence on earth, the consecration of the individual to his eternal principle.
This discovery, very generally, is associated with spiritual feelings one gets through a religious life.Keeping this in mind, the CBSE has laid down,--“it is expected that students should have undergone courses/activities aimed at moral and spiritual values. The schools may draw up their own programme for the purpose.”
This is done through:
The singing of devotional hymns in the morning assembly.
Interpretation of prayers and scriptures.
Celebration of religious festivals.
Organising lectures on different religions.
Formal teaching of Divinity which is treated as a compulsory subject, counted during promotion.
