Greenfields Public School was founded in 1966 by Late Shri R.R. Joshi, a great humanist and connoisseur of education, at P-11, Naveen Shahdara to meet the dire need of a good Public School in the Trans Yamuna Area. It was extended to Vivek Vihar in 1975. The Dilshad Garden School started functioning from July 1986, Chander Nagar in 1983. It is a proud privilege to mention that in the year 2005 the school at Maujpur has been dedicated to the profound memory of the founder of the School & Society and named as Shri R.R. Joshi Memorial Greenfield Public School at Maujpur Yamuna Vihar, Delhi. The functioning of Vivek Vihar branch has also been revived from the academic session 2005-06.
Besides achieving a high academic standard, the curriculum attempts at imparting education that aims at the all round development of the child which includes developing the qualities of self-reliance, integrity, adaptability and social awareness.
