Childhood is the most crucial stage, when seed of future behavior, outlook and character are sown. The quality of the tree of tomorrow is determined today. The innocent and nascent childhood, untouched by pride/manipulation needs utmost care and attention. The school of experience is the most impressive school, if only we are devoted students of it. Observation rather than books, experience rather than men, are the best educators.
Education does not commence with the alphabet – it begins with the mother’s and the teacher’s encouraging look, the father’s nod of praise and approval, the sister’s hug, the brother’s care, the flowers that one gathers in gardens and the birds that one sees in meadows. The child must be taught to observe, to feel and to receive impressions. Hence the most effective way of teaching is to make students use their sense properly.
