Welcome to Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Bolangir
It was a red lettered day in the history of school education of India when, in November 1962, the Government of India approved a scheme to provide educational facilities of a uniform standard throughout the country to the children of transferable Central Government Employees including Defence Personnel. As a first step towards implementation of the scheme, 20 schools then functioning in the Defence Stations were taken over to run as Central Schools in the year 1963. Two years later, the management of these schools was entrusted with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body set up for the purpose. The number of these schools has risen to 1090 and they have come to be known as Pace Setters among the best schools in India.
