Kendriya Vidyalaya, AFS,High Grounds, Chand&#299;garh was established in 1984 under the patronage of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, New Delhi an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The four fold Principles for all round development of the children has been the first and the fore most objective of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, AFS, High Grounds, Chand&#299;garh.
There are nearly 1373 students (as on 01.08.14) on roll in classes I to XII. It has three section sections in class I to X and three streams in classes XI & XII i.e. Science (Medical & Non-Medical), Commerce& Arts. The students are wards of personnel working in Air Force, CISF, ITBP, Army, State Govt. and Floating Population
