The School started with a trust created by its founder the late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji. He wanted to ensure that the children of the poor and destitute of Jammu region should be educated and looked after. The trustees handed over the management of the school to the leading educationists of the century the D.A.V College Managing Committee New Delhi in 1967.
A School in the Nature?s lap ? Nagbani is known for its sylvan beauty. Chenab?s ice cold water, clean fresh air and the cover of greenery makes learning a joyful experience in the nature?s lap at Nagbani.
Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate School is ideallylocated at a distance of 10 kms from the temple city of Jammu at a place called Nagbani. The school is the focal point of this place and therefore commonly and popularly referred to as 'Nagbani' School.

SPORTS & GAMES : In order to enhance the capabilities and interest of upcoming and aspiring super-stars, the school has three basket ball courts, three football grounds, two cricket grounds, one skating rink, two badminton courts, one table tennis room. The school also has seven well qualified and well trained Physical education teacher.
