The Yavatmal District administration requested the Ministry of HRD, Government of India to open a KV at the District head quarter.

As per this request the KVS, New Delhi opened this KV on 29.01.2007.

KV Yavatmal is since then functioning in the present temporary building allotted by the District administration.
This KV is a Civil sector KV .It?s Chairman is District Collector.
The present VMC Chairman is Shri S.Sanjay Deshmukh IAS.
At present this KV is having Classes up to IX.
A total of 393 students are studying as on 31.05.2011
