DESCRIPTION:

Bandel Vidyamandir had its initiation in the year 1953 when it was a Co-Education Institution. It started with the class V & VI under a thatched building. Gradually it extended upto class VIII and then class IX & X. Next it was affiliated by Higher Secondary Council in the year 1977 with Arts, Science and Commerce. The condition of the School building was very poor at the start. But it was enriched by the donation of the local people as well as Govt. of West Bengal and later S.S.M. During the struggleful years, the Institution had the able Headmasters like Lt. Sisir Mukherjee, Lt. Santosh Kumar Bagchi, Lt. Sudhir chandra Mukhopadhyay, Sri Kishori Mohan Bhattacharya, Sri Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay, Sri Uday Kumar Pal, and Sri Arun Kanti Neogy ( present T.I.C. ) and numberless assistant teachers like Lt.
