St. Anthony?s Higher Secondary School, is an educational institution of the Catholic Church, belonging to and managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco Educational Society (registered as ?St. Anthony?s Educational and Charitable Society? under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act 12 of 1983. no e. 16 (RS) 30/2001/374).Guided by the religious and educational philosophy of St. John Bosco, the school was founded to bring school education within the reach of the common man.
The institution has its Provincial Headquarters till 2012 at Guwahati, Assam, but since the creation of INS in May 2012, the Headquarters is shifted to Mawlai, Shillong.

The school offers an education which values and nurtures the religious, spiritual, intellectual, moral, aesthetic, social and physical growth of each person. The school endeavors to instill in its students a love for excellence, integrity, concern for one?s fellow human beings, a sense of purpose and respect for self, others and the environment.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
St. Anthony?s Primary School was started in 1901 by the Society of Divine Saviour (Salvatorians)as an orphanage. In 1922, the Salesians of Don Bosco took over the school and raised it to an M.E. School. In 1931, on June 19, the School was raised to a High School by Calcutta University. Now St. Anthony?s School is a recognized Higher Secondary under the Meghalaya Board of School Education.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of St. Anthony?s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, is to impart sound formation (religious, moral, mental, social and physical) based on theprinciples of Christian faith, to the members of the Catholic Community. It also imparts the same sound formation to all others admitted to the institution.

The method of education followed in the institution is the one taught and practiced by St. John Bosco (1815- 1888), a great educator of youth. It is based on the reverential love of God, on conviction, on the helpful presence of the educator, timely corrections and guidance.
