DESCRIPTION:

The Sree Narayana Educational Charitable Trust was registered in 1992 at Thrissur by 15 settlers who belonged to Sree Narayana organizations with the main objective of starting a CBSE school. Thus came being, Gurukulam Public School. The Trust, in July 1992, in a rented building on M G Road, Thrissur. Just as the great oak grows from a humble seed, Gurukulam Public School too had a humble beginning. The School had a KG class with 6 children. In 1993, school was shifted to our own building on 30 cents of land at Poonkunnam with KG section and 1st standard . In 1994, Gurukulam Public School entered a new  phase when the Trust acquired about 8 acres of land on the serenely located Aykunnu hills in Venginissery Village, which is 8 kms. away from town. The land was apt for developing a - CBSE school having adequate land for playground and buildings. Vigorous fund mobilization campaign simultaneously launched by enrolling institutional and life members. were undertaken from abroad, especially the Gulf countries. The venture was a huge success as it received a enthusiastic response from philanthropic people   everywhere. The committed efforts of  the founder Chairman, Dr. K. C Prakasan and Secretary, . M S Jayasooriyan, in lead, along with other members and well-wishers deserve appreciation. Each year a class was added and 2001 March, the first of Class X appeared for the Board  Examination. Our efforts and prayers paid off. The batch emerged victorious in flying colours with 100% success. In the following year, CBSE New Delhi accorded to the School. the Senior Secondary classes. Today the School stands tall with note-worthy achievements  in academics and co-curriculars. The School has achieved 100% success in AISSE & AISSCE since the beginning till now. The students have emerged amongst top 1% in various exams in the board exams and have received Scholarships from the board for further studies. Our alumni now consists of Officers in the Defense Forces, Pilots, pioneers from various fields, students at IITs, and other institutions of national repute. Amongst the present students we have champions at sports, the best junior athlete in the state, state champions in Kabaddi and football and winners of  various Science fairs. Our students have received appreciation letters the Minister of HRD, . Smt. Smriti Irani. Our staff is studded with committed teachers and supporting members. The senior teachers are recipients of letters of appreciation from the HRD minister. All is well!!!
