DAV Public School, Sawang, CCL was established in 1989 in collaboration with Central Coalfields Limited, Ranchi. It is one of the best schools of Jharkhand Zone-01 (Dhanbad) as well as one of the best schools in CCL. However it is situated in a very remote area in the lap of Coal mines. Even then its surrounding is evergreen throughout the year having beautiful, neat and clean campus which creates healthy and congenial atmosphere for all round development of the students. It has been running smoothly under the supervision and control of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi and the CCL Management as well as strong introspection of Regional Director, Shri. K.C Srivastava. It is a Co-educational English Medium Public School, affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi upto Class - XII (Science & Commerce).
