The Sophia Girls Senior Secondary School, Vallabhnagar, Kota was started in July 1964 and is under the Management of the Mission Sisters of Ajmer. It belongs to the Christian Minority in India governed by Article 30(1) of the Indian Constitution. It has obtained Minority status Certificate from National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, New Delhi. It is an unaided School and is affiliated to CBSE.
The industrial area 14 km away in the interior Kota lacked good Educational facilities. They pleaded for a Sophia in their area. After repeated entreaties Sophia Vallabhnagar became a reality. The Mandi committee offered the Sisters a suitable piece of land at a very nominal cost. It was gladly accepted and in 1964 the foundation of a primary School was laid. The School had received recognition in 1964 and soon reached the status of a High School. By 1975, it rose to the level of a Higher Secondary School.
