Kendriya Vidyalaya is a system of Central Government schools under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The system came into being in 1962 under the name "Central Schools" and has been affiliated with CBSE since then. Later, the name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.
This Kendriya Vidyalaya Panagarh, which was opened in 1966 as a project school, had been the prime gem in the crown of the Sangathan. Now it is a 2-sectioned (1 to VI) and 3-sectioned from (VII to X) and school running all the three streams Science, Arts and Commerce from class I to XII.
