Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bijapur was started in the year 1997. The Vidyalaya has Classes from I to XII with an enrolment of 660 with Science Stream at the Plus-Two level.
The Vidyalaya has maintained high academic standards with 98.6% results in the 2006 CBSE Class X Examination and 100% in the 2007 CBSE Class X Examination.
The Vidyalaya provides opportunities to its students to Participate in a variety of activities. The Vidyalaya participates in Games, Sports and other activities organized locally and also at Inter Kendriya Vidyalaya level by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The activities include Mathematics Olympiad, Bio-Technology Olympiad, National Level Essay and Painting Competitions, Youth Parliament, Adventure Activities, Educational Tours, Exhibitions, Scouting etc.
The Vidyalaya has a well stocked library of over 2,300 books to inculcate regular reading habits. We subscribe to nearly 14 magazines and periodicals of educational and literary nature.
Computers have come to stay. They are installed in a laboratory to facilitate training as well as mastery of programmes. Its infinite application has helped the school and studies to grow by leaps and bounds. Computer Education is provided by well- qualified specialists from Class III to Class XII. The Vidyalaya has a well-equipped Computer laboratory with a total of 18 computers.
Broadband Internet access is available to the students in the Library and the Computer Laboratories.

The Vidyalaya provides coaching in sports, craft and fine arts.Remedial coaching, classes are run for Class X and XII students from July to December.
The Vidyalaya provides special coaching in Football, Cricket Kabaddi, Kho-kho and Volleyball.
The Vidyalaya uses Think.com for integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with the teaching-learning in the classes. 500 students and all the teachers are enrolled in Think.com.
