Sophia Girls’ School, Meerut Cantt, U.P. is affiliated to the Indian Council for Secondary Examinations, New Delhi [ Aff. No. UP/070]. The school was established in 1950. It started as a primary school in the makeshift building in the church premises and later moved to its present location. Being within the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Meerut, it functions under it and Bishop. Preference is given to the Catholic community for admission. The school campus is situated on the Delhi-Roorkee Road in the heart of the cantonment. It consists of three buildings with spacious, well- ventilated classrooms, libraries and well equipped laboratories. It has well maintained playground. The school imparts education from the Pre-Primary level to class XII. In classes XI the school offers two potential streams i.e. Science and Commerce. As a Catholic school, it is working not only for the intellectual, cultural and the physical development for the children from the early stages, but also for the formation of the character by inculcating sound moral principles. Christian students receive instruction in religion and care is taken to preserve the Christian faith and religious practices. It aims at the all round development of the child and strives to mould them into sincere, dedicated, distinguished and morally sound citizens of the country. We make the integral Liberation of Women and Girl Child our main thrust.
