Jyoti Niketan School, Azamgarh, a minority institution, was established in 1971 and is administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Varanasi, a registered charitable society. It is under the religious jurisdiction of Bishop of the Diocese of Varanasi. Sisters of Queen of the Apostles are actively involved in its administration.
This institution was started with the object of imparting education to students in a manner that will conserve their distinct religion and culture. It is situated in one of the healthy parts of Azamgarh and is, therefore, an ideal institution for Parents, Guardians to whom the health of their children is a matter of prime concern.

Curriculum and Text-books are mostly the same as prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
English is the medium of instruction, communication and examination in this institution. The School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; with "No objection" Certificate from the U.P. Government. It prepares students for the I.S.C.
