As you drive along the sand dunes, the quintessential beauty of Rajasthan countryside mesmerises you. The drive almost takes you through a mirage. The undulating picturesque dunes seem akin to the waves in the sea. SESOMU School is nested amidst such natural environs in Sri Dungargarh, expounding the beauty of the Royal Rajasthan.
Having graduated in science and engineering, migrating to USA in 1980 and establishing successful business there, Chairman of the school, Mr. Jagdish P. Mundhra, was directed by a strong desire to do something for the motherland. Since he attributes his success to the blend of best education and traditional values, no other form of giving could have topped the importance of providing the same to the children of the place of his origin. And this school is a manifestation of those sentiments. The idea came to fruition with buying 20 acres of land in 1997, starting construction against all odds and completing 16 rooms by June 1999.
The name SESOMU is derived from the names of Parents of the founding Chairman. i.e. SErmal SOnadevi MUndhra. The school is being run under the auspices of SESOMU Education Society, a unit of Sermal Sonadevi Charitable Trust, recognized by the Income Tax Department Under Section 80-G of I.T. Act.
The School opened doors on 5th July 1999 educating about 125 students up to 5th std in English medium. The school started with a staff of eight teachers under the stewardship of Wg. Cdr. (retd.) D.S. Sharma. Two school buses were bought to facilitate student commuting. Since its inception, the school has made a difference to the landscape and a significant impact on the lives of the people of Sri Dungargarh, Rajasthan, India.
