Mewat Model School Punhana is a branch of Mewat Model Schools Society-Registered under Societies Registration Act of 1860, wef. December 1984. The Head Quarter of the Society is maintained at the district centre Nuh of the newly carved out district Mewat to Haryana. At present the Society is running eight Model Schools at Nuh, Ferozpur Jhirka, Tauru, Punhana, Hathin, Nagina, Madhi and Khanpur Ghati to impart quality education through English Medium in the educationally backward Mewat area. All these schools are affiliated with the C.B.S.E. Board. Mewat Model Schools are functioning under the Commissioner Gurgaon and the Vice – Chairman is C.E.O M.D.A, Nuh. This educational project is sponsored by M.D.A, which provides grant – in-aid for payment of salary at par with Haryana Govt. to ensure well qualified, trained teachers and staff for the school.
Mewat Model School Punhana was established in 1989. The school has its own building, vast playground, labs, library and all other facilities as per the board’s specifications. The school got affiliated with the C.B.S.E. Board upto secondary classes wef. April 2007 and the first batch of class X appeared in the board examiniation in March 2009 and gave 100% result. In 2010 the school was upgraded to Senior Secondary levels, vide letter cbse/Affl/s.s-00772-1011/2007-08/-10/6/2010. Provisional affiliation extended upto 30/03/2018 vide CBSE/AFF/530602-Ex 00965-1314/2012/487018 Dt 25/10/12.
Co-curricular activities are organized as per schedule which includes Inter – house and Inter Mewat Model School competitions in the various fields like sports, games and other competitions to ensure all round development of the student. Free education is provided for the upliftment of the girl child. To uplift the weaker sections of the society – SC/ST/OPH – full fee concession is allowed.
