Anaikar Abdul Shukoor Sahib was born in a respectable family at Nariyambattu, in Vellore District in 1910. He acquired knowledge from his early schooling.
His successful business brought him prosperity in abundance. He contributed wealth to many social and religious causes. Hardly could there be any organisation or institution that did not receive his patronage. His contribution to education is remarkable not only in Tamil Nadu but also in all over the country.
He was the President of All India Skin and Hide Tanners and Merchants Association at the crucial time when leather industry was undergoing phenomenal transformation. With the establishment of Leather Exports Promotion Council, at the office bearers of the Association were taken into the Administration Committee of the Council. This enabled the industry to have good rapport with Central Government.
He was the President of the Ambur Muslim Educational Society under whose auspicious Guidance the College, two Higher Secondary Schools and two Elementary Schools were being run.
He was the President of Bakiyathus Salihath Arabic College at Vellore. Apart from these institutions he was associated with ever so many other institutions like New College, Chennai and Jamia Darus Salaam Arabic College, Omerabad.
