Realising the need for providing quality English Medium education to students of the marginalize group in the society, especially Tribals and Dalits, Dr. Fr. K. C. Thomas, then Principal of St. Paulís School, Rourkela, began to think of starting another school in the outskirts of Rourkela, closer to the Tribal Villages. Dr. Fr. K. C. Thomas, along with Fr. Symphorian Kujur and Fr. Cherian took the initiative to begin the new school. Of course, we can say, this school is the brain child of Dr. Fr. K. C. Thomas. To materialize his dream 10 acres of land was purchased at Jhartarang, near Vedvyas, Rourkela.
Fr. Joseph Topno, the Provincial Superior, INE Province, laid the foundation stone on September 8th 2007 in the presence of a large number of well wishers. Construction of the School building began on 9th October 2007.
St. Arnoldís school is affiliated to Central Board of School Education (CBSE) affiliation No. 1530144. It is surrounded by lush green lawns spread over more than 8 acres with spacious assembly ground, an extensive football and cricket ground.
