Established - 1954 Cambrian Hall is a residential cum day, co-educational English Medium School affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. It was founded by the late Col. Shashi Shumshere J.B. Rana on 12th July 1954 and has at present nearly 1400 boys and girls on its roll. The school is being run by the Cambrian Hall Educational Trust. It is situated in the picturesque surroundings at the Cantonment area of Dehra Dun and has a grand view of Mussoorie Hills. Spread over 32 bhigas of land, the school is secured by the boundary walls and has sufficient space for sports and all other school activities. The teaching staff at Cambrian Hall is experienced and highly qualified to impart quality educational instructions on the most progressive and modern lines. The school has classes from I to XII, and each class has four sections with 35 to 45 students per section. Classes XI and XII are divided into the four sections basis their streams; one for Arts and Commerce each and two for Science. Cambrian Hall aims to impart liberal education to its students and to teach them the Arts, Commerce, Science and knowledge of orientals and occidentals. We wish to acquaint them with the gentle and the enlightened culture and to equip them for shouldering responsibilities, to develop general awareness and knowledge of information technology. We also aspire to train them for a disciplined and patriotic citizenship and to inculcate spiritual values of life in them. The school’s motto is “To Greater Heights” and the emblem is the khurki with the background of the hills. The name Cambrian is based on the name of a hillock ‘Cambria’ in Wales, England. The school completed 50 years of its useful existence in the field of education in July 2004. With great enthusiasm, the book, “To Greater Heights” – History of Cambrian Hall, was released on this day.
